Personalized Gifts You Can Make Over and Over…
Personalize a frame with a first or last name or a word
When you think of personalized or homemade gifts it doesn’t have to mean the gift looks homemade. Also, you don’t have to pay someone else to make it, and wait weeks for it to arrive because it is a custom gift. You can customize this beautiful gift over and over. Different letters, custom colors, the background and framing of the letters is up to you. Just purchase a beautiful frame and customize the rest.
A good friend of mine who obviously has a great eye for “letters found in nature” made a beautiful gift for me that was my last name and one of my wedding photos. Knowing how much I enjoy this personal gift, I decided to bless a friend with one.
This frame had spaces for four 4×6 photos. I knew I needed space for 6 so I simply removed the insert.
You can use the empty frame to determine letter placement and spacing and determine if your letters need to be trimmed down to fit the frame. During this time I place different letters in the frame to see what combination I like best. This is the most difficult part actually. I can be quite indecisive. 🙂
Once I choose my letters and cardstock, I place the letters on the cardstock and put the empty frame on top just to get an idea of what the finished project will look like.
Use the backing as a stencil so you can cut the cardstock down to the correct size. Once you cut the cardstock, you use the backing as a guide to place the letters on the cardstock and then you reassemble the frame.
I love this idea for birthdays, baby showers, wedding gifts, housewarmings, etc. Also, it doesn’t have to be a name. It can be a word: FAMILY, PEACE, HOPE; a short phrase: LIVE.LOVE.LAUGH. You are only limited by the size of your frame and your letters.
Personalize a frame with a name or word plus a photo
Here are some additional ideas that allow for 1 or 2 pictures in the frame along with the personalized name or word.
Hope you enjoyed the post and will share your creations. As always, if you have questions or comments, I’d love to hear them.

This is such a good idea. I would love to make some. Where did you get the letters from? If you made them yourself how?
They are really all around. Less expensive than the sites you see selling the same thing. Although, I am sure you can find some pretty reasonable ones or ideas on sites like Pinterest, Etsy, art sites, etc. I think the Etsy store these were sold at is out of stock, but you can certainly take some 5×7 photos and start to create your own gallery. I would love to see what you come up with.
What a lovely Gift idea, I always think its so much more meaningful to make gifts rather then buy them. Me and my kids have taken to making cards from all sorts of unused and scrap pieces of material. Thanks for sharing this I love it!
That is awesome. I would love to see those. I so enjoy seeing what other creative things people are doing. Thanks for stopping by.
I’ve been looking for a way to personalize my daughter’s room and the tips you provided fit perfectly with my idea! Thank you
Thank you. I just love these for shower gifts, kids’ rooms, wedding presents. You name it!
These frames look really nice and would be perfect presents for the ladies in my family this holiday season. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I believe they would love these. They make great presents.
