Birthday Layout
It is that time again…
Time to reveal my take on the 10-1-18 Let’s Scrap Sketches Design Team sketch. We just celebrated my brother’s birthday last month. It is rare to have the layout done so quickly but I am trying to get and stay caught up with projects.
My goal is to get caught up and then stay current with my memory keeping. Anyone who has been scrapbooking for a while understands how exciting it is to complete something in the same year…let alone the same month almost. 🙂
The sketch that inspired my timely layout:

I am also trying to get comfortable using my own handwriting for journaling. I used this little journal card to document a few thoughts about my husband and I taking my brother to one of his favorite local restaurants to celebrate his birthday.
Ordinarily we would have had dessert at the restaurant but we were too stuffed. We decided to continue our celebration at home with cake and ice cream.
I used some paper from my stash, which is something else I am continuing to do along with some newer paper here and there. I used my Tim Holtz Tonic Studios paper distresser to rough up the edges of the blue strips of paper at the top. The link here is my Amazon affiliate link, but I recommend this tool because it is fun to use. I have had it a while and it distresses well without completely tearing your paper.
In place of the landscape picture, I opted for the other half of my circle embellishment just to add some balance to the page.
Don’t forget to play with the sketch and link your layout at Let’s Scrap Sketches so that we can see your take on the sketch.
