My husband captured this series of pictures of his cousin waiting for Flying Horses, the nation’s oldest carousel in Oaks Bluff, Martha’s Vineyard, to start. We were so amused at how completely oblivious she was that she was being photographed and quite naturally you can see exactly when she realized. That big smile upon realization is priceless.
Patterned Paper
I used this cute paper line that I found at Tuesday Morning for just $5.99 and came with 18 sheets of double-sided paper and a sheet of coordinated stickers. For the base I used the Embark paper which is a pretty neutral with hints of compasses and blue graph lines that match the blue paper I used under the green polka dot patterned paper. I found some of the papers and ephemera on Amazon.
The title In the Spotlight is a 29th Street Market title I had in my stash for a while. It was perfect for this layout. I pulled the flower from a paperclip embellishment and it fit perfectly for the “o” and I used Aleene’s Tacky Glue to glue it on since the flower has a felt texture.
I popped the title up with 3D Dots by EK Tools. I really like these because there is no waste as you can use the frame that holds the various dots to pop up items that have intricate designs.
The Let’s Scrap Sketch:
I had so much fun working with this final sketch of 2018. Wow, where did the year go? Hopefully you have lots of layouts to remind you!
Play along with us at Let’s Scrap Sketches. Check out the inspiration from the design team and let us see how you use the 12-15-18 Sketch.
This is such a good idea & how well it has turned out. I have recently started doodling which is really fun. I guess both these things help a lot to reduce anxiety and increase concentration! Good going!!
Thank you Aishwarya! Yes, this is a big stress reliever for me. I love being in my crafting space.
I always tell myself to start doing cute stuff like this but can never find the time. One day I hope to push myself to just do it!
Go for it Traci! 🙂
As a kid, I would do scrapbooking often. But now, I could not get enough time to pursue my hobby. Will try to get in track again.
Hi Sayanti. Yes, you should go for it. You can start off small like a 6×6 or 8×8 one page layout. 🙂
I would love to start scrapbooking, I really need to start compiling our memories into books.
Be sure to check out the post I have about getting started and scrapbooking basics. It has been updated to entry.
Also, I’d love to see the projects. Tag my on Instagram for sure!
Everything that is photography related has my attention. The scrapbooking idea is so fun and I need to experiment with it too.
Definitely experiment and play around with products and techniques. Thank you for stopping by. ?

Thank you Leah
many of my friends scrapbook a lot and it is a great and creative way to keep memories. The photos are so cute
Thank you so much!
These are cute. I am not that great at doing this but it would be fun to try.
Thank you. If you do, be sure to come back and share your projects. I would love to see them.
I used to scrapbook all the time. Loving your ideas and your scrapbook page looks amazing.
Thank you Cynthia. It is definitely my happy place when I am in my space creating.
The sketch come out so well…my younger brother who loves sketching and drawing would enjoy this too.
Dalene thank you for stopping by. I’d love to see some of your brother’s work.
Aww! It is my dream one day to spend a lot of time scrapbooking. Seeing that the world has gone digital and there are fewer albums available even with more people it will be a great way to cherish those memories.
Alvern, it is seriously my favorite thing to do besides reading and traveling. LOL Sometimes you can do a little a day though. I call it drive by scrapbooking. I will set up a space with a layout and work on it a little each day if I am running low on time.
Great idea to frame in a nice and beautiful pictures of a moment or a memory that you want to keep forever!
Cristina yes, this was such a cute discovery after vacation to see how she was just in her own world, waiting and my husband captured those pictures. It was so funny to see the moment she discovered he was taking more pictures. LOL
I love scrapbooking! This turned out to be so pretty! Love it. 🙂
Kam thank you so much.
This is a cute way display photos. I should show this to my daughter for the babies photos.
Oh yes, Tara. With other paper and themes you can create completely different looks. I sometimes “scraplift” my own layouts and for other themes.
This turned out so good! I started scrapbooking a few times and then just ran out of time.
Heather I hear you. A lot of people are just so busy. Sometimes I put a 30 – 60 minute appointment on my calendar to carve out time. Or I just start a project and leave it out or in a pretty 13 x 13 box to work on little by little when I have 10 or 15 minutes here or there. It has been working out so far. 🙂
Such a great idea 🙂 I have so many items that I have always intended to put into a scrapbook – your post has inspired me to get onto it!
Awesome Alexandra. I hope you will share some or tag me on your creations once you do! I always enjoy seeing what people are working on. It is definitely part of the fun.
This turned out so cute! I need to be better about scrapbooking. It is so nice and I need to make the time.
Jessica, I really try to keep it very simple so that it is not so time consuming. Sometimes I enjoy planning out my pages (for mini albums or tag albums) when I am doing other things. Then when I sit down to craft, I am ready to go! 🙂
This turned out so cute! I love scrapbooking. I need to start doing that again!
Thank you. Maybe you can start small, like a mini album. It really is a lot of fun.
I’ve been hearing a lot more about scrapbooking lately. I’ve never been into it but I love seeing people’s final versions. I feel the same about patch quilts.
I have always loved mini albums in particular but have been into tag albums and altered items lately. Thank you for stopping by.
So pretty! I love how this turned out. Cute photos too. I need to start scrapbooking.
Thank you Amber. Yes, once I discovered scrapbooking I was hooked.
