Picnic at the beach
Running out of date ideas? Going overboard with elaborate or expensive ideas? Why not plan an old-fashioned picnic at the beach or park? Grab a blanket, some sandwiches and snacks or whatever you want to eat and drink. Watch the sunset before returning home.
Go Star-gazing
Grab a blanket and lie under the stars and see how many constellations you can name. You can even add this to the “Picnic at the beach” date.
Try a new recipe at home
Dust off one of your old cookbooks and try a new recipe at home. Try this cauliflower “fried rice” recipe I blogged about.
Drive with no destination
Drive with no particular destination in mind. No gas? Ride bikes or go rollerblading instead. The added bonus with biking and rollerblading is date ideas with a healthy alternative.
Make S’Mores
If you don’t have a backyard fire pit, toast them right over your stove on medium heat (provided you have a gas stove). I just saw a replay of Ree Drummond making S’Mores at home and toasting them indoors and thought, why didn’t I think of that?!

I always forget how simple nice dates can be! We tend to go “overboard” when not necessary. I love picnics!
Hi Serena,
Yes, I love the simplicity of picnics. Thanks for your comment. 🙂
